ZenBusiness on Growth

ZenBusinesss is committed to provide our employees with equal opportunity for learning and personal growth. We emphasize career goal discussions as a part of our employees’ meetings with their managers, lunch and learn opportunities, book clubs, training resources, and this year we held a Hackathon!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I was given a chance to get a role beyond my previous scope and I am given clear recognition for my work

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Rapidly growing start-ups provide enumerable opportunities for growth.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There isn't a great continuing education program in place yet, but we are growing fast and people are moving into positions that helps them grow in the directions in which they are interested.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I came on as an IC, moved to manager in 1 year bc my manager got moved onto the engineering team (she just finished extra classes so they put her where she could use those skills). They always hire from within first.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I think so? Not 100% confident - thus a 4 rating rather than a 5.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Coming in at a more senior position, I still feel as though I have a couple levels ahead of me to get to. I also feel as though if I wanted to get into a more managerial role, that I could do that as we continue to grow as a company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There are no shortages of learning and growth opportunities. My contributions are seen, and the better I do, the more opportunities I'm offered.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Constantly growing company needs leadership everywhere. This creates opportunities for everyone.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

2.5 years ago I started as a Compliance Manager as a one person team. Within 6 months I had a team of 8 people and plenty of organizational support for my continued success. About 9 months ago I was approached by the program department to start at an entry level scrum master position because I had been open with my manager about my education and future career goals. Even with being a manager of a team of 8 I was able to interview and accept the new position. We worked up a replacement training course and everything worked out perfectly! Nine months later I am a full program manager. Zen wants their employees to succeed professionally.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

It is so exciting working for such a rapidly growing company- growth opportunities are limitless!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There is not any domain or area that would restrict access. There are no physical doors but you can drop in anywhere and find opportunities to help and learn.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Internal promotions all around, from developer to manager and customer service to development.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have promoted almost 10 employees under me to newer positions.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Vast opportunity to grow is one of the reasons I came to ZenBusiness, and this vision was never derailed at any point within my career. I've been coached and led to leadership at a reasonable pace to further my success.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I am very new to the company, so I am not sure how the path forward works yet.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have no idea. I've only been here for 5/5 months. It seems like there is, but I really can't say. I know that the other people in my team got good raises this year (I'm too new) and I have seen guidelines on what it takes to become an engineer of next level up from where I am, so I would say yes.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I personally feel that in my role, the sky is the limit!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Defined set of growth requirements and hierarchy

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I am challenged, encouraged, and supported in my role.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I actively seek feedback from my manager and teammates and all feedback is constructive.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Ideas are so encouraged. we have many many slack channels dedicated to "new ideas" or improvements and everyone is always willing to listen to whatever ideas we have. even if it's been suggested or tried before because we all know times change!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There is a lot of opportunity to take on leadership roles at ZB while the company is growing so quickly. The company has also demonstrated that it is willing to promote individuals when they are performing beyond their current role's expectations.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

From the first couple weeks I was already being asked where I see myself in the next 6 months, year, couple years. They foster growth and want you to succeed.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I've only been here 6 months and already I'm leading a team of 3 engineers, which was delightfully unexpected.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I'm relatively new and feel like I do, but will have a better perspective as I'm here longer.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Growth opportunities for engineering feel fairly standard as expected of a scaleup-sized organization.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

after only 3 months at the company, I was having career growth conversations with my manager and skip-level

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

It seems very likely I could grow here just because this is a growing company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Recent organizational changes have made it difficult for me to grow professionally. It is hard to achieve the next level when you have to have up to 5 direct reports.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

At least in my division I often get asked by supervisors about what I'm interested on and if I want my role to evolve in a different direction.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have been with Zenbusiness for two years and in those two years I have gotten 3 promotions. There is also a strong focus on upward mobility in the company in general. They want their employees to branch out and find the position within the company that suits them best. No one wants to feel like they are stuck in a dead end job and i honestly feel that Zenbusiness not only understands that , but is doing their best to make sure no one feels that way.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I certainly have the opportunity to grow my technical acumen. I am late in my career so tempered expectations around growth in role, but certainly inspired to make a difference.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I would like more education budget - as well as understanding of my career goals, but I believe there is a solid intention to help me grow.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Great management support

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

not enough info yet to know

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have been encouraged by managers and senior peers to extend myself and look for opportunities.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have grown and continue to grow in title, responsibility, and compensation at Zenbusiness.

ZenBusiness on Purpose

At ZenBusiness, we’re concerned with more than profit alone. That’s why we’re a public benefit corporation (PBC). Public benefit is in everything we do. It’s how we treat each other, how we treat our customers, and how we make our community and the world a better place.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We help entrepreneurs start a business and we try to go above and beyond as part of our PBC mission reaching to underserved entrepreneurship community

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness was formed initially as a public benefit corporation.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We support minority run businesses and are constantly looking for ways to reach out to our communities to make individual and company impacts.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

At the end of the day, no company survives without making money. That being said, the service Zen offers is actually changing people's lives for the better. I see feedback constantly from clients on how we're making their life easier, helping them quit their day job etc.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I thought so at the beginning of working here, but we care so much about LTV, RPV, etc. It seems to be all the matters and what drives decisions.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I believe the purpose is to empower smaller businesses to have more control over their day to day operations. We want to help them achieve their goals and make it easier to succeed!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

They do it all! Charity work, giving back to the community, and employee retention and empowerment. To me, ZenBusiness is a movement, a revolution! They are changing lives.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

By far the best company I’ve worked for because they prioritize inclusion at the exec team and walk the walk. No one is perfect but it’s pretty great.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The purpose of helping entrepreneurs start and run their business is clear. There is a little confusion when it comes to the future offerings but that will hopefully become more clear.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

They are a Public Benefit Corporation which means they are designed to make more than money. They enrich their customers lives through grants, employees lives through generous fair market pay, compensation and benefits and the community through the various start up activities, lemonade day sponsorships and volunteer opportunities.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness helps entrepreneurs make their dreams come true every day, AND gives back to the community. I love working for a company that has values that so closely align with my own.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I was drawn at the beginning of ZB being a PBC and is still a core company mission value. The only reason it had to drop the PBC designation is because not all states recognizes it so the name would be different in each state.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Started a s a public benefit company giving back to the community

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

It's about helping other people make money ;-)

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

They seem like they really want to help people start businesses as well as make sure employees have a good work-life balance.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

With every company meeting, leadership weekly reminds us of how we are changing lives beyond the products we offer. This vision and goal is what drives our day-to-day.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZB is a public benefit corp that gives back to the community through grants and a large focus on employee participation in community activites.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

It's a rare opportunity to actually help people with creative and new ideas for things that don't exist yet.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We used to but in the last 6 months it seems to have become all about the money. Not much different than every other start up anymore.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Helping people do their own thing and be their own boss is an incredibly powerful "why" to have at a job.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

They seem to. I can't really answer this one because I mostly just focus on my work, but despite it being a startup, they are very cognizant of our time and we don't work the hours you would expect from a start up. I would give them a 5, but since I haven't observed what else they do (that they say they do) I'm going to leave it at a 4. It's not that they don't, it's just that I haven't paid attention to the other ways they are giving back.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

we are a PBC also and help other startups succeed and provide grants and education

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Money is of course a part of why any company is in business but ZenBusiness has a mission (even a passion) for making the world a better place and it is embedded in everything we do.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Formally registered as a public benefit corp, helps promote small business growth.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness is dedicated to changing the face of business ownership in America, therefore changing the world.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Truly helping the customer is and should be our main focus.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Zen's purpose includes making money (obvi) but primarily focused on improving the entrprenuerial experience!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone onboard is focused on helping businesses grow and be successful. As a for-profit company of course we make decisions based on the financial well-being of the company but we are also focused on expanding non-monetary offerings, education, and making sure what we offer is competitive and available to all sizes of companies.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

More yes than no and by that I mean that It's first and foremost a business but the founders want to make a happier place to work than the industry standard. I do think decisions are made with employees in mind and not just as an afterthought.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We have a high degree of engagement with our customers to help figure out what tools they need the most to make their personal businesses succeed. We also are a public benefit company and have awarded grants to select customers periodically to help them turn their dream businesses into a reality.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

While we focus on metrics, the sense of purpose is far beyond it and its evident in the culture

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZB offers a really great product and they stand behind the mission of empowering people. Work/life balance and company culture are incredibly important - unlimited time off, flexible hours, no one feels as if their job is at risk because they're being overloaded and stressed.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We want to free people from bullshit jobs, and empower them to build out the life they want. It sounds like I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but the fact that ZenBusiness is a PBC, along with all the grants we give out, really shows that everyone at the company stands behind this purpose.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

we are a business, but we continually advocate the public benefit and actually helping people run their own businesses.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

C-Level is dedicated to making a difference and has emphasized this as part of the company's core values and mission.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

403b corp and committed to supporting non-profits, small businesses, women and minority owned businesses and much more

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There are a lot of actionable things we do for customers that are less about money and more about their QOL

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. ZenBusiness empowers people to create their own businesses, which in turn helps people with financial freedom.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There is a clear goal to help new business owners make their own businesses successful. There is a clear goal to understand how the company is successful and which areas need attention to improve.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I feel like the company is striving to help small business owners above everything else. Making money is of course important, but the customer experience comes first. When we do make more money as a result the employees see that in raises. This is not a company that is driven by corporate greed, but rather a company that wants to change the way both customers and employees are treated.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Mission to help every inspired entrepreneur stand up their business and support community causes.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The mission of ZenBusiness is to help regular people just like you and I to start, run, and grow a business. It's a pretty exciting mission with a large focus on the customer experience

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes! They want to help people get better!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

As a PBC there was no doubt from the beginning that they wanted to do more than just make money.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Zenbusiness primary goal is to change the world by empowering entrepreneurs. Zenbusiness also believes that employee happiness is a critical component of a successful business.

ZenBusiness on Flexibility

We’re a fully remote company based in Austin, Texas, with team members from all over the world. We value self-care and emphasize a work life balance. We offer flexible vacation and time off policy, paid holidays, and employee assistance programs.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, work from home and unlimited vacations

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Company believes healthy employees are productive employees and beats the drum of "take time, when you need time."

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We have an open out of office policy. I don't use it much, but don't feel pressured whenever I do.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I'm not one to take time off but have been practically forced to not once, but twice already. Work/life balance is a real thing here.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

So far so good.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I just took two days off to make a four-day weekend. We are currently in a crunch to release our first mobile release and I haven't heard anything negative so far about my decision.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I've never had a problem getting the time I need to take care of things in my life. If you don't have PTO, they let you make up the time.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Flexible vacation is great.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I had just started a new position at the company, when suddenly my mother in law who had moved in with my family for help during her 2nd round of breast cancer took a turn for the worst. My team mates, direct managers and HR staff were so incredibly kind and demanded that I take all the time I need with no worries or apologies needed. If you need a mental health , just say the word and you get the time and support you need. They also have an employee assistance program that comes with counseling sessions and mental health support.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Flexible PTO is amazing!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Unlimited PTO say no more (just get your work done)

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I can, just at this moment, we are so busy.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I can take time as long as my boss approves.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I don't think my managers or team would have an issue with me taking off when needed, but there is a lot of work to be done, and we're moving very fast. Because of that, I, personally, would feel the slightest bit uncomfortable taking some time off - but that's just me. Keep in mind I'm still relatively new to the company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Time is easily taken off, however, coming back to the work is hard due to a heavy workload and lack of communication or training.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We don't get a lot of official holidays, though they did give us the entire week off between Christmas and New Years this year. In theory we have unlimited time off, and it seems like they respect that. I haven't had a chance to go on vacation yet, but that is due to my own schedule. Other people on my team have and it doesn't seem like it has been a problem.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I had a family emergency and had the flexibility when I need to take off as well as work remotely for extended periods.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I was told I cannot take a sick day without having PTO applied to the missed days. It would be nice to be able to have separate bank for sick time that doesn't require using up vacation time.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We have a very flexible schedule and I am able to take the time away I need for appointments and to rest and recharge.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Unlimited PTO (for engineering) and accepting managers.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Very flexible policy regarding time off. All I need to do is put it on the calendar when I want to take vacation. No time off has ever been questioned.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I get flexible PTO at Zen and my manager is very open to me saying i don't feel well or needing to step away if feeling sick. As long as coverage is coordinated, no issues with taking time off.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We are all adults and treated as such. Getting time off is a simple conversation and doesn't require justifications etc. We have Flexible PTO so we aren't capped and are free to take time as needed, hours, days, or weeks. Also having people in all different time zones has allowed for even more flexibility as we can really help cover when someone isn't around.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

During the busy filing season, time off is kind of discouraged but not outright denied.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The culture around paid-time-off is very sensible and understanding at ZB.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I'm sure there will be business exceptions, but overall no issues.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Unlimited paid time off. As long as we're transparent and responsible, we can take off as needed.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

You can take off as much time as you want and/or need, as long as you just put it in the shared time-off calendar so other people know you're out. It's really low pressure, I love it.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I've never been told I cannot.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Unlimited PTO policy and management has emphasized the importance of WLB.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have never had any pushback about any time off requests

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ive been told to take more time off

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have been explicitly told by my manager that I can take off time, any time, for my mental and physical health, as well as my overall well being. I don't even have to be sick to take time off work. That's quite nice.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

It has never been an issue for me or for anybody in my group. We cover each other as needed.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

All of my bosses have been very understanding when I have needed to take time off on short notice for sick days and other emergencies. As for PTO, it is accrued for hourly employees and unlimited for our salaried employees. The accrual rate for hourly is not the best in the world but its definitely decent, equalling about 1 week per year.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Work life balance is important and supported by my leader and others.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I know we have unlimited PTO, but it is hard to have backups do my work. Having a solidified backup plan (or encouragement to do that) might help people take time off.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Focused on outcomes and not time at desk

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

super flexible

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have never gotten any pushback when trying to ask for time off.

ZenBusiness on Inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion are core values of the company culture at ZenBusiness. At ZenBusiness, every voice counts, no matter our race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, location, or background. We’re a remote team from all over the world, and we celebrate the diversity we each bring to our business.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I am gay and born outside of the US, and I have always felt part of the family at ZenBusiness

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I am not sure of the true White, Cisgender, Heterosexual Male to Non-White, Cisgender, Heterosexual Male ratio is, but I know it is nowhere near what it has been in previous companies I've worked for/with (and that is a GREAT thing!)

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

First place I've worked to have openly gay leadership and a very active DEI committee. It's incredible.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, from a perspective of a new employee, everyone is typically welcoming and pleasant.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Joining the company recently, I was very happy to see that there are people of all different backgrounds, cultures, and locations!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have been in this industry for over 8 years. ZenBusiness is truly the best place I have ever been employed. Between benefits, pay, management, work/life balance, and general company culture, I am truly able to be myself, enjoy my job, and excel here. I am appreciated and empowered every single day. In other jobs, significant masking is required and one feels like nothing more than a number ("fall in line, don't rock the boat" attitudes). ZenBusiness encourages and seeks out feedback in all areas and actually listens and applies changes where possible. I couldn't ask for any better.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

By far the best company I’ve worked for because they prioritize inclusion at the exec team and walk the walk. I knew perfect but it’s pretty great.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The culture is headed in the right direction but there is a clear distinction of those who are new and those who have worker here a while, especially those that worked together at the same prior company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

You are encouraged to be your full authentic self.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have never worked anywhere else where diversity and inclusivity was so valued. It is so refreshing!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone starting from the very top leadership takes the opportunity to welcome everyone either offline or online.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Most inclusive remote company EVER

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The culture is very welcoming.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness has a DEI committee and is full of warm welcoming people.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness makes it a priority to make sure everyone seated at the table surrounding decision making is well represented and diverse.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

there are employees from all walks of life and ZB strives to add true talent to our organization. Additionally the culture is extremely welcoming and most people are always willing to help no matter what.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness does everything it can to include people from different backgrounds and teams not only when hiring, but when creating cross-functional teams. It is always looking for ways to improve this, even before it finds out *if* it may be lacking in inclusion.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Zen does seem to do more than other companies when it comes to inclusion and listening to employee concerns. They do take the measures to make sure others are heard and diversity is included

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We have a very diverse group of people working here. People of all ethnicities, sexual orientations etc... We also have people that live in other countries that work here with us.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness has been the first place I've ever worked that I feel my authentic self is accepted. I am free to be me and valued for what I bring to the table.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Consistent and strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion in both employee workspaces and external products.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Since starting at ZenBusiness last year, I have had a wonderful experience in working with a truly diverse and talented group of people.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I see that the company tries really hard to be inclusive and takes any concerns seriously.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I love working for Zen! It's a place where people feel connected to their teams even though everyone is remote.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

We are encouraged to set up 1-1 meetings upon joining. I've had about 15-20 and they have all been awesome. Please take the time to really get to know you outside of your role and are very open and sharing of their perspectives.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone I've spoken to is really nice. I feel like kindness that was a base in the culture building.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The culture is very friendly; questions around company direction and priorities are welcomed; the culture is highly collaborative despite being a remote company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

As someone who has worked for companies with poor culture, this company goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort of their employees.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

From HR to my own team, everyone is really warm and welcoming, encouraging career growth from the start.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Going 100% remote is always a challenge, but ZenBusiness works hard to make sure we're always included. Everyone can talk to anyone in the corporate hierarchy, leadership is tremendously transparent, and it's fun to meet new people.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Zenbusiness is growing a lot, so we're generally welcoming and inclusive, but with all the new employees, they're new too and not everyone knows the company yet and hasn't quite been assimilated.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone here has been approachable and egoless. A welcoming, judgment-free environment.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

excellent DEI program and this comes through in who they hire; very diverse teams

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZB does a great job at including everyone no matter background and helps people grow personally and in their career.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

There's inclusive and welcoming feelings and stuff but it's almost like everyone is too agreeable sometimes. By that I mean in meetings it's almost like people are afraid to tell someone that they have a bad idea because it'll hurt their feelings or because they don't want to be placed on the outs in a place where some people have much stronger ties to each other than other groups.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone has been very welcoming of me. Others also shared with me similar feelings. It's a nice thing to feel welcomed into a company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The onboarding, weekly donuts, and weekly staff meetings all help to make newcomers feel very welcome. Everyone is very nice and caring and it's apparent how genuine everyone is.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

ZenBusiness is very welcoming!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The onboarding process was extremely welcoming and enjoyable. All my bosses are women, which is a breath of fresh air. I have had conversations in my native language (not English) with other members of the company.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Zenbusiness has always made it a point to be inclusive when it comes to hiring. There is so much representation from all walks of life working at this company. It has made me feel safer and more seen as a member of the LGBT community to know that a good portion of my co-workers are also as part of the community. I've also never worked at a company that is so mindful of things like pronouns and making sure everyone feels comfortable sharing things about themselves that may be stifled in other work environments.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone is willing to help raise the bar on continuous learning.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I love the volunteering as well as the bias training. More training on how we can be more diverse. I also love the goals of supporting diversity in management. Yes!

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone is very friendly and aligned to the same goal/mission. This encourages everyone to make sure that their teammates are supported and have what they need to do their best work

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I am amazed at ZenBusiness's commitment to fairness and equity

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I felt immediately like I was part of a family. Everyone was very welcoming across departments and at all levels.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Traditionally IT and Engineering have both been difficult fields for women to get traction in, I believe Zenbusiness has a higher ratio of women in engineering than any place I have worked.

ZenBusiness on Feedback

We strive to be transparent in everything we do here at ZenBusiness, and encourage our employees to be open and honest. Feedback is critical to helping us continue to learn and improve. We believe a great company culture leads to happy employees, and happy employees lead to happy customers.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, weekly 1:1 with my boss, no BS

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Since we are still growing so rapidly and widely, sometimes the feedback can be overlooked with the amount of work we are doing. However, whenever it is, it is great and feels productive.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

My leadership really does care and it shows. I never get any feedback that isn't productive or useful.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

The feedback I've received has been pretty underwhelming.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Since I am newer to the company, I have not yet had a chance to receive constructive criticism yet. I look forward to the opportunity to grow more and hopefully the feedback is empathetic. I have high hopes that it will be.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

One-on-one meetings with your manager occur weekly, as do company-wide update meetings. Productivity numbers are provided daily. Department meetings are held monthly. We get feedback all the time - both good and bad. Management is always there to help any and all of us succeed.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

They hold routine 1x1s with your direct supervisors so feedback is constant, productive and constructive. If it isn't meeting those standards, parties are encouraged to enlist HR help to make the meetings more productive and to help spot areas of opportunity for coaching.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Managers bosses and staff are great

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have a good relationship with managers from other departments.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have not had a lot of time at the company, so I don't have a lot of experience to go off of. I did have one situation where I thought it could have been handled better, but otherwise, no issues.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, but I wouldn't mind a little more direct feedback. "You're doing X well, and need to improve on Y."

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I haven't gotten a lot of feedback from people above me, but I have gotten some good feedback from my peers.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Instant and transparent feedback are values of the company. I meet weekly with my manager so I have timely feedback.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Yes, everyone I've interacted with at ZenBusiness is a team player who leads.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I've had a 1-1 setup with my leadership team since day one and others have set up similar meetings with me. feedback isn't super formal or rigid which allows for honest conversations to happen.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Feedback is more on the positive side which is nice but sometimes being straightforward is also appreciated and I think ZenBusiness could use more straightforwardness.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

I have never been given feedback on my work performance or decisions in a way that has made me feel like I was being personally attacked.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

My boss and the rest of the team are great at giving feedback

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

All team members from top to bottom have been very responsive and constructive.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Regular 1:1 meetings and remote honest stand-ups make it easy to give and receive feedback.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Everyone that gives me feedback is honest and helpful and constructive.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

Feedback is team and situation dependent, but so far in engineering there have been no issues or friction.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

all 3 of my managers have high EQ and are very empathic

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

N/A. I will give the benefit of the doubt here because people have helped me out with a lot of admin problems I've had before. Also, I'm a new hire, so I haven't had many opportunities to receive such feedback for my career yet.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

My 1:1 meetings with my supervisor are almost my favorite part of the week. The feedback is so valuable and empathetic, in both directions.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago

So far in my short tenure I would say absolutely I am shown empathy and provided constructive feedback. I am seeking more.

By Verified Current Employee, More than 1 year ago
