Very challenging to grow as an individual contributor. Nearly all career paths must go into management or your salary tops off quickly.

Generous vacation and holiday benefits. Ability to take that time somewhat depends on your manager. There's no flex time or ability to work from home for 98% of employees.

Performance reviews are very outdated and no one takes them seriously because Austin Community College doesn't have a merit-based pay system. Everybody from the janitor to directors get the same raise each year REGARDLESS of performance.
