I’m trapped in retail where managers fight to keep you

Have been offered promotions without applying.

Never got a chance to Rotate to another job opportunity after 1 year, gotten threatened with ‘next steps’ (or documented coaching) for them using a third party productivity tool that is not accurate

More opportunities to grow your experience, but is very hard to climb the ladder.

Apple has a strong internal marketing department but it’s all shrouded in lies. They are a for profit publicly traded company

Profit is never mentioned but rather the customer experience is what is important.

Not in my department although we were told that we are making the world happier

the focus was really on building the best devices possible, they just happened to be easy to sell.

Taking time off for emergencies is punished with “occurrences” which can affect your ability to move up

Apple offers PTO and hours are available to take the time needed and in emergencies any management I have ever worked with would make exceptions to get the time needed if it wasn’t there.

Not enough time off and get stressed over weekends for not able to reach productivity goals on weekdays

Apple is generous with benefits but not always with time off.

Family emergency, health concerns

There was always a large expectation that there would be whole company shut downs at certain parts of the year, it encouraged people to step away and recharge

No comment, I see inclusivity in other department but not mine.

My group is very California-centric and I am often left out of conversations.

Very friendly and inclusive

It generally says the right things, and take the right actions when confronted. But not proactive enough and leadership is still the same white men from 15 years ago.

While at Apple I've worked with more people with sensory disabilities (blind/deaf) than anywhere else.

My team lead has no empathy, said he will do everything to help us but only words no action, he become a team lead when he never pass productivity
